Ghastly Door
Decorations
The entrance to your haunted home will set
the mood for what lays beyond. Door decorations can cost
as little as ten dollars, and up to hundreds of dollars
for full sized door-frames that are really impressive. Below are some of the
best ways to let your trick or treats, Halloween party
guest and other potential victims know that they are
about to meet their doom when they enter!
Halloween Wreath
A
Halloween wreath hanging on your front door during the
haunting season is a wonderful way to say "Welcome to
our Haunted Home" to your visitors. They usually don't
cost very much and are an easy project that the entire
family can enjoy making together. We hang one on every
door, inside and out including the garage.
Wreaths
add a homey touch to your Halloween decor. Usually seen
on front doors, people now use them all over the house
in places such as over the fireplace, on interior doors
and even on walls. Store bought wreaths are available in
craft and department store craft sections at this time
of the year and can be used as is on your doors and
walls.

Dreadful Door Trim and Toppers
Transform
your front door into extremely spooky portals of doom
with door frame facades and trim! These usually cost
anywhere from under a hundred dollars to several hundred
for the really elaborate ones. You can find a variety
of them both online and in Halloween stores during the
Halloween season.
Halloween
facade kits that surround your entire door, suck as the
"Skull Door Facade", pictured to the right really make
an impression!
One on
top of the other, the pressure builds as these contorted
skulls are stacked over 80" high, and comes complete
with three flickering electric candles. Fits most
standard residential doors!

Demented
Door Covers
An inexpensive alternative to using a full fledged door
facade is to cover it with a plastic Halloween door
cover. These are usually made from light-weight plastic
that can be taped or tacked over your door.
Most
measure somewhere around sixty inches tall and thirty
inches wide, and will cover most standard size exterior doors. They
are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
These
Halloween decorations can be purchased online year round
or at your local Halloween store during the month of
October.
Spooky Knockers
Halloween
themed door knockers like the "Stranger at the Door"
available from
Halloween Effects, can add the finishing touch to your
home's front door and are not just for decoration, but also
serve as a way to alert you to the presence of visitors.
Most of
these door attachable Halloween decorations have some sort of
spooky sound effects built-in and are
battery powered, so there is no need for a cord or
close-by electrical outlet.
If you do use a temporary door knocker, be sure
to attach it very securely to your door or it might
get pulled off by an overzealous trick or treater!
