Creepy
Hanging Decorations
Most
people have a natural fear of creepy things hanging from
above that could drop down and attack, and Halloween is
the perfect time to display these types of Halloween decorations.
Spooky
Spiders and Webs
Add some
spiders and spider web to your Halloween decorating
plans. You
can find it at most stores selling Halloween products.
Just attach to something and pull it out all over!
Hang long
strands of white thread on your porch to simulate spider
webs. Make them long enough so that little kids will be
able to feel them, too. Spray them with water to add an
extra creepy factor.
Bags of inexpensive
stretchable Halloween cobwebs are available at most
stores during the month of October. Also available are
large rope cobwebs, stretchable web, cobweb shooters, small
to large spiders.

Bats and Birds
Suspending rubber,
latex, plastic or paper bats from your ceiling,
porch or tree limbs with clear thread or light-weight
fishing line is a wonderful way to create a spooky
atmosphere and scare your visitors. Halloween Online has
an in-depth article about
hanging rubber bats.
Adding artificial ravens, crows, vultures
and owls to the tops of
tombstones, in the trees, on the shoulder of a scarecrow,
above your porch
or just anywhere they can perch and
stare at your visitors always looks creepy.
You can find these types of Halloween decorations at
Halloween stores and some department stores during
the month of October.
Garland, Balloons and Banners
Hanging a
Halloween banner and/or some holiday garland over and/or
behind your table greets your guests and sets the stage for
the table. Be sure these do not hang above or
anywhere near an open flame from candles, etc. Black and
orange crepe streamer garland really brings back
memories for my first Halloween parties.
Clusters of
Halloween balloons filled with helium and suspended in
the corners of the room or above the main treat table adds to
the festive atmosphere. Try to have different
styles of balloons in each cluster.
Don't
forget some festive string lights in orange and purple, just don't hang them
to close to paper Halloween decorations or anything
flammable for safety reasons.
